LU's master programmes promote positive health and social progress in Hong Kong

Successful applicants may be eligible for a UGC Fellowship for partial tuition waiver! (Application Deadline: 31 July 2020)

Lingnan University’s Master of Social Sciences in Comparative Social Policy (International) and Master of Social Sciences in Health and Social Services Management have successfully obtained fellowships from the University Grants Committee’s (UGC) Targeted Taught Postgraduate Programmes Fellowships Scheme for the 2020/21 academic year. The UGC Targeted Taught Postgraduate Programmes Fellowships Scheme aims to attract meritorious local students to pursue interdisciplinary and in-depth postgraduate training in priority areas of strategic importance to Hong Kong. The Lingnan Targeted TPG programmes focus on the priority areas of health and social services management and social policy.

There are 12 fellowship places available for the Master of Social Sciences in Comparative Social Policy (International) and 10 fellowship places for the Master of Social Sciences in Health and Social Services Management. The fellowships will be distributed to students to subsidise their tuition fees. After students have paid  a minimum tuition fee of HK$42,100 each, the remainder of their tuition fee will be subsidised up to a cap of HK$120,000 per student per programme. This cap per student per programme is irrespective of the mode and period of study.

All local students are welcome to apply for the fellowships scheme.  The fellowships will be awarded according to merit, and will take into account academic achievement, professional qualifications, relevant work experience, language proficiency, interview performance, and achievement in other areas.  Applicants will be required to provide a personal statement which demonstrates a commitment to their respective priority areas and details their plans for serving them.*
